Getting a Grant of Probate yourself

If you want to do it yourself, the application fee for a Grant of Probate is £215. In addition to this fee, there’s also a ‘Commissioner for Oaths fee’ which enables an authorised person, such as a solicitor or public notary, to witness you signing and swearing that you are providing accurate information to the best of your knowledge.

This fee is an additional £7 but we always recommend that you get confirmation of this beforehand.

Once this has been done you should receive the Grant of Probate after 10 working days.

However, for just an additional £135, Get Probate will do all of the work for you, giving you peace of mind that everything has been taken care of, legally and correctly.
